Welcome to Dr. Goldner's Practice

My name is Dr. Aaron Goldner and I am a fully licensed clinical psychologist who works with adults, teenagers and children (age 12+) who have anxiety (panic disorder, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, and phobias), depression and learning disabilities (LD, ADD/ADHD, NVLD), academic and social problems and low self-esteem. My mission is to help my clients implement effective solutions that produce long-lasting success and greater self-esteem.

In-person sessions in Royal Oak; teletherapy for established Michigan clients.

Do you or your child have problems succeeding at school, work, or in social situations?

If so, you may have noticed these common trouble areas:

  • Poor grades or work performance
  • Low self-esteem
  • Difficulty concentrating or focusing attention
  • Failure to finish tasks or chores on time (procrastination) or live up to your potential
  • Disorganization
  • Intense frustration
  • Emotional meltdowns
  • Perfectionism
  • Anxiety or fear
  • Doubt and uncertainty about your ability to succeed or make your dreams a reality
  • Having few or no friends, poor romantic relationships and/or limited social skills

When you notice these areas of difficulty, the natural thing to do is look for effective solutions and answers. The bottom line is that almost everyone wants to be successful in life, but the path to creating that success is not always clear. It can be frustrating when you want to make things better, but nothing you have tried works. I have helped many clients (and their parents) discover real solutions that DO work. Frustration and negativity have gone down while self-esteem, academic performance, and hope for the future have gone up.

Why this practice is different

I understand these challenges from the inside.

What makes me uniquely positioned to help is the combination of my professional interest in this area, training in psychology and education and a lifetime of personal experience with many of these issues. I understand them from the inside because I have had to work through my own experiences with anxiety, ADHD, LD, Narcolepsy (mild) and impaired vision. I use my knowledge, experience, and compassion to help others become more successful, happy and satisfied with their lives.

Anxiety, learning challenges, social, mood and self-esteem difficulties are big problems but not insurmountable ones. They can be made manageable by handling them one step at a time. See my 3-step plan of action →
